Roll Winding Systems

Safety, Performance, & Reliability

RW20 Roll Winder

The RW20 Winder delivers greater reliability, requires fewer spare parts and operates at higher speeds than other winders currently on the market. The RW20 Winder is preprogrammed for your product matrix based on 64 available recipes (standard), Finished Product Accumulator capacity and a host of other variables. With the RW20, Reichel & Drews offers the most reliable, accurate roll winder on the market.

Features

Reichel & Drews roll winders feature S-wrap feed rolls for precise material feed control.

Roll Winder Control System

Our exclusive Siemens based Winder control system operates under a highly intelligent program that monitors every aspect of the winding process and automatically makes adjustments to various drive parameters, in order to obtain a finished, consistently wound roll of precise length. The program continuously monitors the position of the Finished Product Looper (FPA) and driven shock roll (if equipped), as well as FPA pull roll speed, winder feed roll speed and mandrel speed. This constant monitoring and self adjustment assures that the product is delivered to the mandrel at a consistent tension thus eliminating sheet breaks, misthreads and sudden shock waves that effect length control, provides smoother overall operation of the mechanical systems thus reducing wear and tear. The electrical drives control system also senses any misfeed conditions and can quickly and automatically recover.

The HMI operator panel provides user friendly access and control of various winding process variables and parameters. Menu driven recipe screens quickly and easily guide you to the information you need. Alerts and system failures are quickly and clearly displayed for the operator allowing for quick recovery from any down time event.

Available Options

Core Inserter
Designed to insert a core into the roll as the roll is ejected off the winder mandrel, transfer the roll to a tip table for delivery of the roll to the conveying system for transport to the palletizer.
Designed to make only two movements, this proven core inserter is easy to program, troubleshoot and maintain.

In-Line Taping Unit
Increase production through put by taping wound rolls independent of the winder thus freeing up the winder to wind the next roll. Unit applies 2 in. (50 mm) wide tape.

Taping Units
Both 2 and 3 head taping units, with independently operating tape heads apply 2 in. (50 mm) or 3 in. (75 mm) wide tape.
